Unique problem? At least it's interesting

I am unable to type in gmail with my Transformer in either the stock browser or maxathon browser. I go to gmail and log in and click on Compose Mail. The cursor moves to the To: field, but then when I type, nothing happens. I've tried the same thing with the FireFox browser, which works fine. I've tried all the standard things: Restart the browser, restart the Transformer, and I have removed the tablet from the dock, and tried with only the tablet - I can't even turn the keypad on to type in the To field. Plus, my gmail account works fine on other computers.

The issue is the same with the Subject field and the content area - I can put the cursor in these fields but I am unable to type in them. Also unable to paste into any of these fields.

Anybody else ever have this issue? It seems very strange that the stock Android browser, created by Google, won't work with the gmail application, created by Google.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Dan

Strange indeed. Didn't have that problem before... so I tried to replicate and lo and behold, I got the same results: I can move the cursor to "To", "Subject" -- the cursor blinks properly, but I was not able to input anything -- using either the keyboard or the tablet by itself (the virtual keyboard wouldn't even pop up)! I bet this has to do with the recent update -- and Asus / Android will provide a fix soon.

In the meantime, if you need to use Gmail, the Gmail app that comes with the tablet still works.

I discovered this a week ago when someone posted that the fields were not popping up the virtual keyboard. I had the same behavior. Trying to type with the external keyboard resulted in Dolphin for Pad crashing.

I had not tried it because I use the Email app for my GMail so I have never tried to compose an email in the browser.

I wonder if this is a symptom of the user agent problem with the new update?... hopefully it'll get sorted soon!

I just tried to type in g-mail open in the dolphin browser and got the same result. There was no response from the keyboard when the tab was docked and when I undocked the tablet and tried to type, the soft keyboard would not come up. I never noticed it before because I always use the g-mail app.

I just verified the same behavior on my Transformer. Also, after trying to enter text on the Google mail site, my bluetooth mouse stopped working.

All this stuff worked fine before the latest update, including all the new problems mentioned in other threads. Not much "up" with this update.

Can't type in Gmail using browser

I have had the same issues using the browser for Gmail since the update and issues with Facebook. I always use the built in apps but if my wife borrows my tranformer, she would log in using the browser to save setting up accounts. Hope they fix this soon.

Just tested it with the stock browser; not working either; keyboard does not popup..... Having the latest build...19 as well!
Hope we'll get another update shortly!
