Tips for better battery life when in standby mode

    Hi there,

I noticed when I leave my Transformer at home in standby mode that WiFi ON and notifications ON are heaving a noticeable drain on the battery. Even when the WiFi is set to be off while the screen is off.
Battery life greatly increases when put in Airplane mode and set Notification OFF.
This helped me a lot. Just doing this in the morning or in the evening before the next day to work, and when I come home I turn on Notification and turn off Airplane mode.

    Firmware 8.6.5.9

Same here... I have the WiFi set to go off with screen...and it doesn't always as it should. I'm checking for an app preventing it from sleeping, but haven't found one yet. Also, if I unlock from keypad but set it face down on keys when not in use, when I pick it up, it automatically turns on. I'm assuming some magnetic switch as when you open while docked.

this may have been mentioned on the other threads. turn the airplane mode to "on" when you are not using wifi so widgets and paas will not force any wifi access.

I reckon airplane mode will save you the most battery, but if your agenda is chock full of items and thus notifications it might be handy to turn off notifications too in that case...

Thanks - this will help until I send in my Keyboard.
But just having it less than a Week I am not looking forward to loosing my keyboard for 2 weeks!

I would take it back to HH Gregg but they have all the same time frame - so that will not help.

I actually followed a recommendation on this forum and installed Auto Airplane Mode (https://market.android.com/details?i....flymode&hl=en). It works great, and I don't have to remember to turn on Airplane mode. The majority of the time when I let my tablet go to standby it is because I want it to, so I'd rather it automatically go to Airplane mode than automatically waste battery life.

Another vote for usiung this, it's a great app. The battery life of the TF with dock is incredible, I'm really impressed. As someone who used to shut the TF down each night and during the day when I wasn't using it, having a combination of this app and a recent puchase of the dock has me converted into just having it sleep. The fiance thinks I love my TF more than her, hhhhhhmmmmm.
