    Screen Unresponsive to touches

My screen just went "dead" on me this morning. One moment I was playing Pinball HD and the next moment, it just refuses to acknowledge any touches or taps on the screen.

When Connected to a dock, the mouse and keyboard responds fine and the screen acts like nothing happens. But the screen is still unresponsive throughout.

Did a factory reset but still no results. Sigh

    This sucks man...

Factory reset didn't help! Oh the does suck! Let the battery totally die and press the power button for 15 seconds to discharge anything still remaining. Then recharge and see if that cures it. I can't think of anything else.

Apparently this is a known issue. Forgot where I saw it but someone said it was because the TF needed to dock into the keyboard in order to clear a setting or something. Don't know how valid it was, but a hard reset works. You can do this by holding down the power button for I think 12 seconds. Just hold the power button until the screen shuts off and then turn it back on. Fixed mine and I haven't had any problems since.

He already did a factory reset so it would seem like a hard reset is very minor as compared to a factory reset. But who knows.

I have seen it work a few times. Might just be coincidence though.

I read a couple of threads in the XDA forums and found out the solution. It seems to be a S/W related problem like Moondoggie mentioned.

I just did a normal shutdown, and booted up by pressing the Power+Volume Down buttons. It displayed a "recovery screen" for a microsecond and booted up as usual. My screen was OK after dat. Strange. I hope they get this fix in the next update.

I have the same thing going on with mine. It worked fine last night and I couldn't unlock the screen. I did the same thing that AzMean recommended (Power+Volume Down Button) and now it works fine again. That was concerning. Thanks for the advice.

no problem. Glad to be of help.
Maybe MODs should put a "troubleshooting" sticky thread somewhere for these common problems

    That's actually a good idea.
