    FreeNAS

Hi, I just got my TF and was wondering if there is any kind of networking app that will let me map a drive to a FreeNAS box I have in my house. It would make loading/unloading files to/from my TF much eaiser then using the microSD card. I also use it to store all my ripped movies and TV shows so being able to just map to the FreeNAS box would let me play them without having to actually put them on the TF. I've loaded a bunch of them on the microSD card and they play great on the TF so I know the format I made them in (m4v) is good.

    Thanks!

Does your NAS support Network shares (SAMBA or SMB) or FTP? If so, you can set up the SMB or FTP and then use ES File Explorer to transfer files. Even better yet, this can stream your media (videos, music, photos) to the player of your choice. I stream AVI files to Mobo and mp4's to the stock video player over my network. If you set up the FTP you can even do it remotely if your upload at home is over about 4 Mbps and get decent results on 720p.

FreeNAS supports both Samba and SMB.

    Thanks Fred!

I use ES File Explorer to access my FreeNAS server, it works great! I haven't had much luck streaming videos from it so far but haven't tinkered with it that much. But just having the ability to move files to/from the NAS makes the Transformer perfect for me.

*edit* I realized I hadn't tried video streaming with mobo. It works flawlessly with my avi's. Android DAAP client works well with FreeNAS to access a large music library stored on the NAS.
