    Camera out of focus

Do you have any problem the camera taking pictures not sharp enough? I get reasonable pictures quality, but they appear to be slightly off focus especially when taking pictures indoor. It is weird to see what the camera does. It searches for the best focus before a picture is taken. I can see it finds the sharpest focal length in the process, however, the picture is always taken AFTER the best focal length is further adjusted.

    Does this happen to you?

    Thanks.

Yes, the camera in the TF sucks big time. I think the lack of a flash is the main culprit. I had a Xoom pad for a day or two and it took pretty decent pictures, a whole lot better than the TF, it had a flash. The camera itself I think was LOWER in M)P than the TF's.

I was looking at a site yesterday displaying sample photos taken with the TF, photos of really detailed things like hundreds of tiny leaves on some kind of plant, amazingly good quality.

I took my TF outside today to try and replicate the quality, and holding the TF perfectly still, snapped a few out the back, and every one of them was slightly out of focus, blurry, grainy.

I've noticed when taking pictures, they turn out pretty good as long as there is good lighting. But the better ones are when the Tablet is held very, very steady. The more I zoom it seems the grainer they can get. But overall, not too bad. Especially in a pinch and no other camera is available. But I think I will still use my Canon T2i or Olympus 570UZ for those vacation trips.

I haven't even tried, but based on the size and weight of the TF, its going to be impossible to hold it steady enough to get clear shots (unless you have full light). Likewise, I bemoan the lack of clarity from most phone cameras (and most point and shoots without viewfinders), because you simply can't hold a camera study when you are holding it away from you far enough to see the screen.

You want crisp, clear pictures, get a camera with a viewfinder so you hold it against your body and form a support triangle with your legs. Or better yet, dig out the tripod buried in your closet - it works!

Where is the tripod mount on the TF?

The tripod was for the real camera, not the TF. The TF doesn't have a camera worthy of a tripod.

My point is if you want to take pictures, use a camera...

There has to be adequate lighting. Its the same with all the phone cameras I've had with tiny lenses.
