returning transformer, saving data and apps first?

    Hi guys,

I have been so far very happy with my transformer, but have now decided to return it as I have several hardware issues (keyboard dock opens under the hinge, light bleed).

Is there a way to save all my settings, apps and so on so that when I get the new one, I can just transfer it all back? Basically saving me from having to download every app and widget again, and setting up home scree etc?

    Thanks,
    Florian

What did the ones of you do who exchanged their Transformer? Started completely from scratch with the new one?

When you sign into your new one and go to"my apps" it will list all your apps and just click download all or choose the ones you want.

What BxBorn31 states is true if you log into the market using your same UserID/PW. It will not restore your application configurations or data however.

While I haven't done this with the TF, I did just have to do it with my android based phone. I actually used AppBrain because I believe they have a better methold of managing apps. I made sure that all of my data was on my sdCard (a good practice with any portable device), so all I had to do was move the Sd card and re-input my UserIDs/PWs. Took about 30 minutes.

Great, thanks guys, that was the info I was after. Hadn't thought about the apps being linked to my gmail account. So I will just move all other data to either micro SD or USB. Will have a look around for AppBrain or similar.

Thanks again, great forum this is.

    Hi:

You also might want to try appdragon. It will copy a list of all of your apps to the clipboard or send you a list via email. I used it for my phone and it came in handy.
