Is it normal for keyboard not to be recognized sometimes?

Sometimes, when I dock my pad, the keyboard does not function. I have to eject and reseat and it works fine. Sometimes, if it goes to sleep docked, when it comes back, the keyboard won't work, but the trackpad does. Sometimes the trackpad doesn't work, but the keyboard does. Eject and reseat always fixes it so both work. Is this normal, or does it indicate something defective? Want to know before I run out of store return policy period.

I had trouble when it was new because I wasn't always getting it seated correctly. You have to kink of jiggle it to make sure it is lined up and then press it on in until the locking lever slides ALL the way to the right. If it isn't ALL the way to the right then it isn't seated properly.

I have been having some similar issues lately.

In addition to what Krish mentioned, I will sometimes lose USB functionality while keeping partial keyboard function (normal keys work, but Top-Row HotKeys do not.).

When this happens my tab is fully docked, and I have to reboot the device to restore full functionality.

I may call Asus support here soon to see if they are aware of any issues.

As an aside, I think my dock is affected by the Battery issues. It has not been too noticible, but now that I am seeing these other issues, it may be time for an RMA.

Did you do a Cold Boot since the update on the 23rd? I strongly recommend doing that for every update.
    Hard Reset:
Unplug the power cord and shut the unit off and Press and Hold the power button and the "Down" volume button together until after the normal start up screen appears and is joined by some small print at the top of the screen then let them both go. After a few seconds you should see a couple of shapes in the middle of the screen called "Wipe Data" and "Android". Wait a few more seconds until the term "Cold Boot" appears in the list near the top of the screens and just press and release the "Down" volume button again and let it reboot. If you own the dock be sure and do this with the dock connected.

Yes, I make sure that the silver tab slides all the way to the right when I dock, so that is not an issue. Mickey, no I have not done the cold boot yet. I will try that later today.

I'm having issues with the tablet not finding the dock when I wake it from sleeping. I have to remove the tablet from the dock, put it back again and then it seems to be ok until the next time. I have just tired the cold boot to see if that helps.

I have this problem from time to time even still....Yes, my latch is all the way to the right. It will work, put it to sleep, wake it up and sometime (but only sometimes) it will not work. A simple undock-dock sequence is the remedy.

Although, maybe I should try suing someone and this will go away. Mark, got any advice on who should be my target?
