Need help for WiFi weak signal

Does anybody have any tips or methods on how to increase the range for a WI-fi router? Presently I am unable to access the home broadband
in all parts of the house with the TF. Tried additional router but didn't help. Found a RF241 Wifi Amplifier which says will double
coverage for BP 74. Question, do they work? Would be interested in knowing if others have different/better solutions. Thanks.

You didn't present a reference to start.
Do you have other WiFi devices that do work?
    All around the house?
What is the signal the WiFi is broadcasting? A/B/G/N

Most boosters (repeaters) do work and particularly if they are from the same company that the router/access point was made by. What the repeaters typically do is pick up the signal, lets say half way between you and the originating antenna, and rebroadcast it so it appears the antenna is only half as far away, if that makes sense. But you need a proper signal in the first place.

Need more information re: your config.

I have the same issue. I use an Airport Base Extreme, and my TF only has the tiniest part of the wi-fi icon lit. My other devices show a much stronger connection. I don't have a problem with it disconnecting, but I wonder if the weaker signal affects the speed of my connection.

Use WiFi Analyser on the tablet to see if any other signals are interfering with yours, if they are overlapping, change the channel on your router

Channels 1, 6, 11 do not overlap so are the best channels to choose. You may need to ask your neighbours to change channels.

My 2 routers are the Red and Dark Blue, next door is light blue

Another option is to buy a Wireless N capable router, the range is greatly improved over b/g and the TF is Wireless N capable too

I have phone broadband, 3MB+ and Netgear router. Recently purchased a Cisco Linksys E4200 router and tried it connected with the Netgear and only a very slight improvement so returned it. Also tried an old Belkin Wireless Pre-N router that I had purchased for a laptop and no improvement. Didn't work either for the laptop back then in which the laptop was only about 30-40 feet away.

Problem is that the houses in these parts are constructed with concrete blocks. I had to use electrical connectors to connect a bedroom computer to the router. Tried connecting the Linksys router from the bedroom to the phone cable router through the electrical connectors but that didn't work. Only other Wifi device is a Samsung Nexus S phone and it is only slightly better accessing the router so can't blame the TF. May have to go for the amplifier for $150!

I have a similar problem - signal is weak, though a friend's laptop has not much of a problem, so it might be the antenna on my TF. I am considering getting a booster myself, since the one spot I have no signal is my bed...

To the OP, it does seem like your house is the problem. It's conspiring against you. Some type of repeater might be the best answer. Either that, or move the WiFi router to a different location, more open and exposed.

I have had situations where the router has worked best on the floor or on a lower level of the house. Experiment.

I agree, think the house is the problem. Just ordered the Netgear Wn2000-RPT repeater so hope this will fix it. Thanks for responses.
