    New firmware allows ad hoc!!!

Got the new update a few days ago and saw that the Netflix app works, but what makes my day is that I CAN NOW CONNECT TO AN AD HOC NETWORK CREATED BY MY E71!!!

    WOOOHOOO!!!

    Pardon my excitement.

A slight variant of the WIFI, instead of being from a device (PC or tablet) to an access point then to any other resource this is a "point to point" network. A few utilities - including Windows 7 - create an ad-hoc network by default instead of an access point type.

This isn't working for me, got a transformer today and didn't know my nokia n8 using joikuspot premium wouldn't be compatible. I connected the tf to an open wifi network and ran the asus system update but Im still not detected my n8 hotspot. Ideas?

I have N8 and Joikuspot premium. They work OK.

N8 transmission power is low, so you have keep them close together. Less than a meter ideally for me.
Transformer Wlan should should be set visible.
At first i connected them without WEP and when connection was made then turned it to shared WEP.

It's kinda strange. I can connect to my MAC and iPhone but not my Nokia.

I got it working now. Apparently I had to run the update utility three times to get all the firmware updates including the dock update. I love this thing already coming from an Archos 101. I dont like this browser though, Im gonna try dolphin. Getting alot of lag with the included browser.
