    transformer details needed

    HI
I do not have a transformer yet as i originally went out looking for a Samsung Tab. I saw the transformer in the shop and it stopped me dead in my tracks.

There are a few things i would like cleared up in my mind though

How many SD slots are there and what are the limits size wise.
What is the HDMI slot for is it in or out, ie can TV be fed into it or is it just HDMI out.
biggest question is are you all satisfied with your transformer, is it better that the Samsung Tab/ipad

    Welcome!
1st of all I am very satisfied with my TF. 2nd there is only 1 microsd slot on the tablet itself. I think the TF will take up to 32gb microsd card. 3rd I use my hdmi strictly for tv out. I have not tried a hdmi video feed to the TF but I dont think it will accept video feed in. Hope this helps.
    I'm a flasher, watch out!

    Currently running Revolver 2.1.2 with Clemsyn 3.2 v7b @ 1.4GHz

If you buy the Keyboard Dock, it has a full size SD slot plus 2 USB Ports. Some members reported that a 64Gig SD Card worked fine but I have no direct experience using a 64G card. 16G plus the additional 32 is more then enough memory for most people.

    Welcome to the forum!

I also want to add that on the 64 GB card front (SDXC) that the biggest reason that it is in a different classification is due to formatting restrictions. Windows will format this card as a 32 GB if FAT32 is used. If NTFS is used, then it will format to 64 GB. It should work in the dock, but I have not dropped the coin on it as there is plenty of room with a 16 GB TF plus 32 microSD. Also, I have a 500 GB USB HDD that I can plug in that I keep many movies on that I can transfer back and fourth to the TF.

I have not tested it but I'm pretty sure the micro HDMI is output only.

And as to your final question: Yes, the TF is awesome. The Tab is $100 more just for a more iPad-looking device with less connectivity out-of-the-box, IMHO.

Another happy owner here. I carry it around with me all the time and I'm amazed at how useful it is. Very, very happy with it. I should be on commission, I've been to so many conferences recently and I must have given at least 20 product demos

The main difference between the tf and the tab are:

The tab is smaller and lighter
The accessories for the tab are more readily available
The tab's screen is better (not that I find the tf's screen lacking)
The tf's keyboard battery dock is the main differentiator between it and other tablets

The TF has a microSD slot, which is a huge deal for me personally. It also has mini-HDMI output. The Tab has neither.
The Acer Iconia has the microSD, mini-HDMI, but also has a micro and full USB slots. It also has LED flash for the camera. But the TF has the better IPS screen.
