    Managing 'Autorun' Apps

Seems a few apps run automatically whenever TF is booted up, such as: Bluetooth, Email, and the notorious Skype. Is there an app that allows one to disable 'autorun' by app?

Bluetooth - In order to stop it from starting wyen you turn on your TF, you will have to turn it off before you shutdown. It is in Settings WiFi & Network, or if you have the keyboard dock the third key from the left in the top row is BT toggle.

Email - You can stop it from syncing by going into Settings - Accounts and disable all accounts by unchecking the background data, or you can go into each account one at a time and uncheck the sync email for that account. I like to leave my email sync personally.

Skype - With skype open, hit the menu key (4 lines next to recent apps) and go to settings or preferences. There is a Sign In Automatically check boxx. Uncheck and you are done.

Thanks, Frederuco. Bluetooth no longer starts automatically -- that's good since it hogs battery and I have no BT devices.

I've gone to "Accounts & Sync" and unchecked syncing background data as well as Auto-sync. For extra measures, I've also unchecked the individual accounts for skype and email (sync off). Finally, I went to Sype app itself and unchecked the sign-in automatically box. Unfortunately, both Skype and email are still running automatically!

I am not sure about the email - it seems to have a mind of its own.

For skype, with the app open when you hit the menu button (4 lines at the bottom) and there is a sign out option. This will definitley keep it offline.

For the email (and all other apps) I just turn off the WiFi when I put it down for a while and it saves the battery.

I signed out at Skype settings -- then went to tablet settings to "stop" Skype -- then shut down the tablet fully.

Upon reboot --> tablet settings --> applications --> running service.... there it was again, Skype LAUGHING at me with 7.4MB!!

Oh well, I give up. I am happy enough learning how to keep blue tooth from loading automatically. That right there should save on battery drain. Thanks again!

I see what you mean. I believe the service will run if the program is installed. Mine is taking up 6.9 MB and I am signed out. Not perfect, but it should be better with BT off.
