NEWS FLASH: TF101 has Magnetic Sensor to put tablet to sleep and wake up!

I just discovered tonight that the TF101 has a magnetic sensor that will put the tablet to sleep. The sensor can be accessed from either the front or back. The location is about 2" to the left of the right edge, and about 1" up from the bottom edge. I discovered this accidently when I noticed that everytime I place my tablet face-up on my closed laptop, the screen would go off. My laptop has magnets in the lid to keep it closed. When I slid the tablet slightly off the front edge of the closed laptop, it came back on. I have a ceramic magnet that I can hover slightly above the display at an area 2" left of the right side and 1" up from the bottom, and it turns off the screen until I move the magnet.

A proper magnetic casing could limit the magnetic attraction only to one side of the magnet and permit the use in a cover. Proper shielding would be necessary so the magnet wouldn't put the tablet to sleep when the cover is stowed behind the tablet.

If you have a magnet handy, give it a try. I'm now trying to come up with a way to incorporate it into a working flip cover!

This could also be useful for those of us who are getting paranoid of possible power switch damage from over-use of the power button to wake up the tablet.

I further discovered last night the reason for this magnetic sensor... There is a strong magnet in the keyboard dock, situated at the upper-left corner of the equal key (=). This is Asus's mechanism for sleeping the TF101 when you close the docked tablet.
