Results of a drop... not bad

Sadly I dropped my transformer (in the dock) from about 4 feet high today onto a wood floor. Wasn't too excited about that. The bad news is the outside edge of the case is a little bent. The good news is, that's all that happened. No broken screen even though it landed right on the corner and nothing else is broke. Here's a picture of the damage. I certainly wouldn't encourage you to try it, but wanted you to know it might not be the end of the world. I don't plan any repeat drop tests.

Dropped my iPhone while stooping down, it fell out of my pocket about 2-3 feet onto the sidewalk. Smashed the screen to bits!

Luck was perphaps one thing but the bezel is bound to bend and take most of the impact (kind of like new cars crumbling as increased safety than old rock-hard car models that do not crumble but transfer the impact onto passengers). What side was the bent? - when I dropped my old TF the top left corner was bent, soon collecting a lot of dust due to the gap. FYI Asus support won't cover it under warranty...I tried and failed.

Luck of android maybe... I've dropped my vibrant many a times without any real problems. A tiny hair scratch is all that's on the screen. Glad to hear that no real damage was done and that your still functioning fine =)

Glad to hear your TF survived.
I have a dropped TF story that would scare the heck out of any TF owner... Flew out a car window landing and skidding down the asphalt. (Car was just accelerating from a stop). The how & why are a sad story I don't wish to re-tell, but the good news is, the TF survived like a champ. The thin band around the outside had to be re-attached, and bent back into shape. The screen is flawless, all functions are fine... and there are now some battle scars on the outer edges and back. I like to say it has character

Not too shabby. I droppd my ol' macbook once about 2 ' onto tile floor. The metal corner bent, and stayed bent. What's nice here is the plastic kept the metal from bending further. Something I think is a bit of a design flaw with those pretty macbooks.

You are lucky indeed Jeggen! Fall damage is my major concern with any tablet device, Hopefully my TF fares as well as yours!

It's comforting to know that despite what some people are saying about build quality, the TF is a pretty tough device (for a tablet).

    Cheers,
    Alex
