wifi weirdness - what's happening?

I've had my new Transformer almost exactly 24 hours. And I love it way more than I actually thought I would. I've actually gotten nearly all my questions answered right here - thank you!!

I have one that I can't find an answer to for a fix for... My wifi is funky.

It's all locked into the network and I access websites without a problem and the Android Market - no sweat - even run speedteat and get good results. But downloading from the market is tough. I hit 'download' and then get 'waiting to install' and there it stays. I can even stack up apps and they all say 'waiting to install'. But they don't install.

If I go to the wifi settings and turn off wifi (uncheck the box) and then check it again, the downloads start immediately. I can replicate this over and over again.

Why do I have to turn off and turn on wifi to get a download?

I don't think it's my network - the same exact thing happens when I switch the wifi to my phone's hot spot.

Try going into settings > applications > manage applications > all applications > market > clear cache/data. You'll likely have to sign back into your Google account, but it should fix the issue.

Good thot but no fix. I cleared the Market's cache. Then went into the Market and selected an item for download. Nada. Turned off wifi. Turned it back on and bam! downloaded and installed before I could open up this Quick Reply window.

I did download a wifi on/off switch and using it saves a few steps so now it's not really a needed fix but more a very curious thing.

Can it be you are downloading apps not optimized for our tablets? But just for Phones? Or are they installing and your are just not finding them after install?

Oh, no. Once I turn wifi off and on again, they all download instantly and install without a problem and there is no problem finding them and they work fine.

The issue is how to I download without having to toggle wifi?

I do believe the issue is confined to the Market. I just downloaded 2 flickr images easily and quickly without the toggle. Weird.

When all else fails try a hard reset.
