    WOW Battery life

So yesterday I spent 23 hours without power. I was a bit skeptical on the TF battery life. I used my TF for well over 13 hours playing music, videos and games without any problems. After my UPS died, I turned off wi-fi to help conserve battery life. I have a B60 and my wife has a B50. Hers didn't hold up as well as mine did, but she did manage roughly 9 1/2 hrs. Neither of us have the dock...yet. We had some neighbors come by to figure out how we were keeping entertained during the blackout. I may have just sold a few more TFs.

Another big difference I noticed is that the B60 has much better speaker performance. Yeah there is still a slight bit of light bleed, but I'm not going to worry as it doesn't effect the TF overall.

I love my TF now more that before.

Just a side note, after my wifes power drained and all the media I threw at mine, I still have 39% battery life.

So you think because you have a b60 that yours has better battery life?

No I don't think it. I'm just putting it out there with the facts. yeah there may have been something running on my wife's, but the reality is I was on mine for 13 hrs and still had 39% charge. Her's died at 9 1/2hrs.....

I have a B40 and am very pleased with the battery life. I have not given it a timed test, but using it all day, off and on, (now that my wife is back from vacation there's that dreaded honey-do list) the TF keeps juice all day and I charge it going to bed. Sure beats the very short battery life of my Toshiba laptop which is hardly 2 hours at best.

Sry but I'm just getting mixed info from net and elsewhere regarding charging li-ion batteries, hence so many q.s. on my part re: charging. At what percentage do you guys charge your TF? I've read in other places anywhere from 20-10% remaining. Is this the ideal time to fully recharge. Also the method of charging, one full long recharge or a break in between, seeing that the right side of the TF (where the battery is) does heat up, and from previous experience battery and heat don't go well together.

The TF has Li-Polymyer not Li-ion. IMO the first few charges are the most critical to get the max battery life, after that it is not that critical when to recharge. I will most likely do a full charge at LEAST once a month (probably more like once a week) from less than 10% just because I use the TF so much.

Modern batteries are pretty good, Li-polyer batteries are massively more robust than the dark old days of NiCad and NiMH (and even Li-ion), so much so that i'm not going to fret about when to charge.

Also, from the teardown thread at xda, the batteries seem to be easily replaced (once you get into the device, of course), so even when the battery life does degrade it won't be difficult to refresh the device.

As for the hardware revisions, it would be interesting to take the different devices apart to see what did change. I doubt there will be any battery life difference built into the hardware, but it is an outside possibility.
