    Virus/spam? - unsolicited notifications

Just recently, I've started getting some unsolicited notifications appearing ...er... in the notification bit down by the clock. Offering things like 'increase your battery usage' and other apps.

I haven't signed up to anything, as far as I'm aware - anyone know how to stop them?

It is probably an app you installed recently that is pushing the notifications. Free apps have a habit of pushing ads to the notification bar to fund their existence. There is an app called "AirPush Detector" that should be able to tell you what app is the culprit.

Just to add to bf's post The solution for your glitch & many related glitches can be found in the malware FAQ linked in my signature. But don't fret, you haven't got a "virus" - just aggressive advertising.

Here is a Tapatalk friendly link...[GUIDE] FAQ on viruses, malware & browser security the info is in post #6

Thread title - added "unsolicited notifications" to identify problem clearly.
