    Mini HDMI output difficulties

i got a converter for my hdmi cable, and when i plug it into the transformer it comes up on my tv screen, but it cuts off part of the screen all the way around, and there is a black bar at the bottom (of the tablets screen) above the tool bar. i've tried all different settings on my tv so i'm starting to think the problem is somewhere else. does anyone else have this problem?

Mine works fine on both my Sammy and Sony LCD TV's. I don't understand why some work and some don't.

I've used my Transformer several times now to display out the mini-HDMI port. All sucessful so far for both video and sound. On a Samsung 42" plasma TV, Dell 23" monitor with HDMI input, and Dell projector at work. All three automatically detected the plugging in of the mini-HDMI port with my cable i just got Monoprice. Worked great. On my plasma TV I just has to select HDMI input then it was good to go. While I have heard of some problems with hooking it up to some TV's, so far so good.

Maybe you need to check settings in your TV instead of the transformer.

Remember that many tvs if not all, you can set it up to show wide fit, 16:9, 4:3 and so on.

Check out this link had the same problem with my sony TV, i gave some steps to make it work. Hopefully it'll work for you. I also gave steps to allow for more of the transformer screen to be shown.

On several tv's one of the hdmi ports is a hdmi/dvi port. You have to use that to get a picture.
On my tv (a Samsung) only port hdmi-1 is a hdmi/dvi port suitable for connecting the TF.
That works very good, crispy sharp image.
The other 3 ports do nothing.

That's a strange one... DVI is basically the same as HDMI but without the sound transmission capability. However, with some TVs (as stated in this thread), the regualr HDMI with sound port works just fine to send both video and sound. It shouldn't matter which HDMI port you use. Weird???
