Question Will it harm the lifespan of the TF battery if i have my transformer always docked?

I'm wondering if it could be harmfull to use the dock all the time.

As i understand the dock charges the tablet when it goes below 90%.

So basicly the battery of the tablet is in a charging state most of the time when docked untill the battery of the dock reaches 3% and it stops charging.

i have had several laptops who suffered with dead batteries due to the fact that they where basicly always connected to the charger.

    So my question is:

Will it harm the lifespan of the TF battery if i have my transformer always docked?

Short answer, probably not. The battery is likely to outlast the life of either the tablet or the dock. But stuff does happen so there is no guarantee.

Mine has been docked almost continually since I owned it. And it has been plugged in most of the time also.

I have it hooked to a 27" screen and just use it like I would a PC.

Thank you all for the replies.

@ leeshor : I hope the battery outlasts the the hardware

    @ janner43 : the sentence

" It is not recommended to leave your device permanently connected to A/C power. Doing so will likely shorten the life of both charger & batteries. "

in your thread is exactly what worries me.

Anyway, i will continue using it like i always did and see what happens.

I think you will be fine with the device docked most of the time, because of the DESIGN of the system, coupled with the trickle charge from the dock to the tablet.

That's a completely different thing to leaving an a/c charger plugged in all the time. I really think you'll be OK.

The thing to keep in mind is batteries are meant to cycle, so don't keep the ac charger on all the time, let the tab/dock combo get down so the tab battery is cycling too. The dock should not suffer by being discharged until it allows the tablet to discharge a ways before being charged.
