Oh Igor, how I love thee, let me count the ways!

First, you should know that a while back I named my tablet Igor (pronounced EYE-gore)

I travel quite a bit for my work, and the past year since I have gotten my Transformer I have spent time in 9 countries, and 11 states within the US. I have put over 20,000 miles on my car and accrued over 250,000 frequent flyer miles. I also think I have put about 15,000 miles on rental cars as well.

Tonight, I was sitting in my hotel room in Songdo, South Korea after a hard day of work. After work I took a stroll through the park next to my hotel. Afterwards, I used my TF to catch up on some emails while eating dinner and enjoying a glass (or three) of some single malt scotch at the Club Lounge. I had a 7 AM EST conference call and WebEx (8 PM local time). When it was time for the call, I just grabbed my TF, dialed on Skype (I have an unlimited calling in the US using Skype). Once on the call, switch over to the WebEx app and join the WebEx session. No computer needed. Once the call was done, I worked on my expenses so I could get them out of the way. When I was finished with my expenses, I printed the forms to the printer at my house so they will be waiting for me to mail out when I walk in the door.

I started pondering how I could not live without a tablet now that I have integrated it into my regular work (and personal life). Today while I was waiting for the customer to get some stuff ready for me I pulled up some eBooks and read a few chapters. On my flight over here, the in flight entertainment had only 1 movie I cared to watch (yeah, I travel too much). Never fear, I had put seasons 1-5 of the Big Bang Theory on my microSD and SD cards. Plus a few other random shows I had not yet watched that I stole off my DVR.

I started thinking about all of the reasons I love my transformer and made a list, so here goes:

    1. Work all day, never run out of juice
    2. Weighs less than 3 lbs
    3. Can print from just about anywhere to my printer at home
    4. Multi-Media flexibility (cloud streaming, play almost any media file)
    5. HDMI Output - Great for watching movies on the bigscreen at the hotel
    6. Convertability - Tablet or netbook mode.
    7. eBook reading
    8. WiFi connectivity, including creating an AP
    9. Remote Desktop / Splashtop
    10. GPS - No need to carry a dedicated GPS with me when I travel abroad
    11. Video Chats (Talk and Skype)
    12. FTP Client
    13. Social Gaming
    14. PIM- all my contacts, meetings, emails, etc. in one place.
    15. WebEx Meetings - No need to boot up the ole PC for a late night WebEx.
    16. Simple MS Office document manipulation.
    17. Open Source - Many more options than a closed ecosystem.
    18. It can play Flash content
    19. Emulators - All my old NES and SNES games on the go
    20. It is not an iPad

    Well, that's my list.

    Thanks for reading!

And in one easy step, the new career as Asus VP (Marketing) was launched

To be a little serious though, that's a great explanation of what these things can do - in the right hands

That was pretty much the point of posting this. It can be a useful tool if you want it to be. One needs to understand it's capabilities.

Great ad for both the TF and Android as I don't know 1. of the many iPad owners I know, who has done 90% of what you have listed. Not digging on iPad but they just don't get a lot of productivity out of their tablets.

You might also consider Internet Fax. Try Trustfax, It could speed up those expense reports.
