Changing the account on my transformer, still keep the apps

Very happy with my Transformer 101 for the last 6-8 months. At this point, I am going to give this away to my dad. For this I need to change the google account associated with this tablet, however, I have downloaded a ton of apps including paid apps, and would like to leave those on the transformer while dissociating my account from the tablet in all other ways. Can this be accomplished?

    Thanks,
    fatelephant

No, because the apps (downloaded from Google Play) are owned by the account under which they have been downloaded. All others (manually installed apk) can be re-installed.

Sorry, but as zanxion said, you cannot do this. Neither can you alter the account (username/gmail address)

The best you can hope for is to remove your account from the tablet & add another for him. I don't *think* that would delete the apps on the tablet...You *might* be able to add new apps then but I doubt you could update the ones already on it.

Google Play account and separate email account

    Hi there,

I have this idea too, to share my downloaded and purchased apps with family members.
Though I did not try this already, I think it is possible to keep the Google Play account as it is, but the new owners of the tablet should use a separate email address.
They are capable of purchasing new apps and you will get the bill, so be careful to whom you give away or sell your Android device...

Yes Dingie, that would work. Turn off the auto sync on the "account" app. Leave it on on the additional gmail address.

I gave my TF101 to my sister. I created new account for her and removed mine but didn't delete apks. They work with the new gmail account but there is no update for mine applications on old TF101. The apps that she installed herself everything works fine.
I back up my apps and easily transferred to Prime.

There was no need to do that, actually--- as soon as you authorized your gmail account? You should have been able to see (and install) all your previous apps in Google Play, regardless if they were free or otherwise*.

Of course, any saved games would not transfer that way-- but most backups don't save the data anyhow (which is why I use root and Titanium Backup, which will).

    * some folk consider that a bug, rather than a feature-- and lament that every single trial app they ever downloaded is still in there.... wishing for a way to permanently delete apps from Google Play... if there is a way, I haven't heard of any.
