Have to agree with the rest...there are just too many good iPad Ed apps. Asus hasn't even released the VGA adapter for the Pboard.
Excuse my typos. I'm typing with my thumbs. Aren't you?

iPads are smaller and, having two small kids (3 and 6), I prefer to use my wife's iPad2 when doing learning activities or reading with them. I never encounter issues with the apps on the iPad. (Don't get me wrong, I WAAYYYY prefer my TF, but, just sayin')

No one ever got fired for ordering an IBM
(or Apple). Maybe if it was a tech school.

id go for the TF especially for doing work on, ever tried to type on essay on a screen keyboard, plus the Ipad is nothing more than a toy really, ok if the class want to watch videos ,play games and surf the net all day.

I am the technology chairperson for a local private school here, and it was everything I could do to prevent my principal from getting iPads. The issue was (and likely is for you) that she wanted to provide portable computing, but had NO IDEA what they would ACTUALLY be used for. My biggest concern with ANY tablet in a school environment is that the user interface interferes with many of the programs/apps you would want to consider. Virtual dissection of a frog doesn't work when your finger gets in the way of seeing things. The TF DOES address some of these concerns, but the lack of apps is still a large hurdle. We went with $450 laptops instead. Sure, they aren't top of the line in anything, but they can handle anything that the teachers would want to do in the most flexible manner...
