Dock loose?

I have just bought the ep101 mobile dock for my tf101.
Everything works fine. I have no problems at all.
So? One may ask.

I just have one question (you have to have one)!

My tf101 sits well in the dock and the sliding latch has gone all the way to the right. It is firmly locked.

However, I am a bit worried about the fact that the tablet seems to be slightly loose and to have a bit of play. It does not move right or left as it is firm latched but it slightly moves forward and backwards in the U-shaped hinge to which it is latched when I open and close the computer.

I just wanted to know whether this play is a normal occurence. or whether I should be worried.

It's normal for there to be some movement and the two clamps at the bottom of the U shape should prevent damage to the centre connector. There has been some discussion of this very subject in another thread, it might be worth you reading through that one: Floppy TF101 in Keyboard Dock hinge

I will try to add two or three layers of electric tape as suggested in the thread you refer to.

Here is what I eventually did: I noticeably reduced the wobbling by adding a layer of felt stuck with double-sided tape to the inside of the U-shaped hinge.

I had not bothered to check until reading this thread, but mine is a bit loose as well-- I was thinking a piece of Velcro in there to tighten things up-- it is plastic, but very squishable.

On the other hand? I've had this thing since last August, and have rarely undocked the tablet, and I close it frequently (like a laptop), no mechanical issues of any kind so far. Maybe I ought to leave well enough alone, here?

I must admit that I am probably a tad overcautious as other people who have noticed this have done nothing about it and have probably felt none the worse for it!

On the other hand, I do not know about velcro. To me, felt and double-sided tape felt (no pun intended!) right because it had a softness and an appearance similar to what was originally laid in the hinge by the manufacturer.
