Does the Transformer come with anti-virus installed?

Does the Transformer come with anti-virus installed? I seem to remember the review saying it comes with Anti-virus installed, but I don't see any sign of it.

No, but the app market has free and pay versions. I use the free Webroot for now. But pick one for your needs and budget.

Thanks. I got Antivirus Free from Creative Apps--It seemed to have top reviews from users.

There are a bunch of Anti-virus's in the market. However at this time, I think, that AV for Android is rather pointless. There has only been two reported trojans, that I can remember, and it was only affecting people who are careless enough to click links and agree to install an app from an unknown person and location. All of these, even the most recent, "DroidDream" aren't exactly what I would consider a virus, and by definition they are more malware/scamware than virus. These aren't things you merely get from checking your email or visiting a website, 'you' have to install them, remember they can't install themselves without your permission, and the app reports everything it's trying to gain access too. So a live wallpaper than needs access to your SMS and phone should throw red flags left and right! Not to mention everything you have on your phone should be coming from the market unless you trust the source! Google, with DroidDream, hit the remote kill switch and the bad apps disappeared across any phone that had downloaded them, so in this case Google Market is your anti-virus.

I guess better safe than sorry approach is the way a lot of people, but considering all I would need to do is a factory reset to fix my tablet or phone at the worst of occasions I don't see the point I guess? Is there something I'm missing on this, because if there is a huge threat out there and my tablets and phones are in danger I sure would like to know about it.

So to answer your question a bit, and get off my soapbox, I did a bit of research, and it seems that "Lookout" is one of the more popular AV apps out there for Android. I would check through the anti-virus listings on the market and try a few of them and see which one you like, as the tastes of others often wain much larger than your own at times.

Having Windows my whole computer life I guess I feel a little "nekked" without antivirus. Yeah, qazme, I guess the dangers aren't there yet. That's why I just got a free one. Probably pointless I agree.

I agree with this post - even on Windows, a simple "common sense" approach is far more useful than an AV that will tie up CPU power, especially on Android at this point. Additionally, I have yet to see a piece of code execute in an Android environment that doesn't notify the user of something happening (i.e. an "Installing..." notification).

Only way I see someone hacking or infecting an Android setup would be via random Bluetooth encounter, or possibly over an unfamiliar wifi network...but those all would require far more effort than would warrant one's attention, unless they've got some beef with you.

As well, I think Pro offers Spyware and Malware coverage and Pro offers support.

It doesn't look like Lookout is compatable with the TFs.
