random restarts and battery drains with ICS

I have never had issues with this tablet prior to updating to ICS. it seems like if i leave it on during the night, without it hooked up to the charger, it's dead by the next morning. This tells me something is running in a way thats causing it to kill the batter. I have also come over and seen it locked up on the EEE pad screen with the little gear turning. it's like its done a series of restarts on its own. maybe that has something to do with the battery dying? could it be a random app that's causing the issue? i hate to have to remove all the apps one by one to see what the issue may be. any ideas?

Go to: Forum > New Posts, read through the threads on this problem, there are many suggestions for correcting this.
Each user that has corrected it has done something different.

I stopped mine from random rebooted by going to the Tetra games app and turning off the check for new games option.
I then watched the ASUS task manager to see what legacy apps started automaticly and removed them.

Other users have done different things.

ASUS has a fix? on the way

    Battery use:
Istopped my poor battery performance by turning off the auto backup to Google in settings> backup & restore.

I also installed, Auto Airplane Mode by Don

    Hi everyone,

I had the random restart problem and just found a very stupid way to stop it. It happened only when it went to standby without connecting to the cable.
So here is the solution I found: when ever I want to leave my TF or let it go to standby, I connect the USB cable to the tablet while the other end is free (not in the charger). So it is not charging, but only connected to a free cable.

For me it works since two days ago and I experienced no more restarts. Please check this stupid solution and tell me if it works for you or not.
By the way, I uninstalled "Google+" and deativate some of the google applications.

Have fun and don't forget to report

I do think the problem of freezing and drain since ICS is caused by apps. I noticed with CPUSpy that my TF did not go into deep sleep during inactivity. After removing Twitter and Skype, and deselecting tegra zone updates, it does. And although the problems did continue to occur initially, they went away after a cold reboot. My TF has been steady for five days since.
