    Battery Life

Just curious as to what measures AT users are using to conserve battery life by: 1) turning off wifi when not needed (and does it make a big difference)? 2) Powering off when not using it (and does this make a significant difference)? 3) etc.

Since I own the dock and get 14-16 hours on a charge I really don't mess with trying to conserve battery life. And for most people who have never had a tablet before and are used to a laptop or net book getting 2-6 hours battery life, just the tablet by itself gets 8-10 depending on what you're doing. So that's a huge improvement. But I'm sure others will chime in with their battery saving secrets.

I turn off wifi between uses. I think it helps battery life a lot.

Take email off push. Helps my phone. Haven't done that on tablet because I've only taken it out to see the world once. Also lowering screen brightness.

I also have the docking station but man I gotta say. I am extrmrly dissappointed in the battery drain with the dock. I can leave it off the dock and my TF will make it through a couple days of 3 to 5 hours a day. The dock drains so dam fast the performance is absolutely dismal. And that update for the dock was/is a complete joke. Come on Asus this is %*#&$+# pathetic!

OK I feel a little better now, really though the life is better than most just gotta plug that sucker in every night

I'm on the same wagon as cloudwahkr, with the dock connected, the transformer uses almost 1/2 of the power it uses while on some of the time.

And the "Wifi sleep option" seems pretty buggy. When I check the battery log from when I slept, it shows the wifi logging on and off every 20 min or so all night, even thou it wasn't used for +10 hours in a row.

i'm quite happy with the battery life, take it work for meetings, and it only goes down to about 40%. I have installed a wifi scheduler app to turn off the wifi between midnight and 6am just as an extra precaution.

I am trying the "shut off wifi when screen turns off" option now, but I am not sure if the reconnecting doesn't take more energy than staying up. Though since lately I have lsot the connection often anyway, it should help.

Done a few tests just with tab, starting at 100% charge and getting 7hrs of use. This is with everything on wifi, gprs ect... . This is 7hrs usage with screen on, playing movies youtube , browsing, email etc.. . This is not including any standby or off time.oh and brightness at about 70%
