I can probably give it a shot later on.

I have 2 USB Webcams : (1) Electronic Microscope Camera and (2) a regular Microsoft USB WebCam.

I have the USB adaptor so I should be able to quickly check both cameras.

Well, Sir, I am most grateful for this. If you get it working and show me how to get it working, I will be glad to offer you a drink, virtually, Sir.

Well I just tried the 2 cameras on the TF101 (Honeycomb) and Prime (ICS)

    No cigar

It will power up the cameras but will not do anything.

I tried running several applications including new ones from the market and no luck.

I did notice the Market has Cannon SLR camera USB controller apps so I it seems we are out of luck. It seems we need specific drivers for specific cameras.

One would think that, but at the same time try using a USB, SD or MicroSD card formatted for EXT3 or EXT4. They do not work last time I checked.

Even though Android is Linux based, it is still not the same as linux. OS X is also Linux based, but you still need drivers specific for OS X and not a Linux driver.

    Exactly!

I'm almost positive any good Android developer could make this work for the [OP]'s camera.

dunno if that helps anyone, but my limited Linux knowledge tells me that this is good... UVC recognizes the device, so the driver works right?

curious to see others dmesg outputs

Yes, that is good. It is recognised. Try also "lsusb" and let us see what it shows. But where to find app that is able to use it?
