My TF as a wifi hotspot

So I just made neat discovery. We just got to our vacation cottage at the OBX. Well all the wireless is down due to a storm that went through yesterday. So I decided to give something a try. I have my TF bluetooth tethered to my Droid X. And I went into "tethering & portable hotspot" in the "wireless & network" menu and set my tablet as a portable hotspot. Now we are tethering two laptops off of my TF which is BT tethering off of my X. Pretty cool!!!

I've got my TF connected to wi-fi, but my laptop can't get an IP address from the same network. Can I use my TF to serve as the hotspot for my laptop?

Based on what Garemlin said, I think the answer is yes.

Now if someone figured out how to tether internet from my blackberry, I'd buy the drinks.

From what I see, the wifi hotspot can't be used simultaneously with the TF being connected to a wireless network, it will *only* work when tethering the TF to a mobile data connection.

So it does not duplicate the functionality in Connectify, which would let you do this in Win 7.

That is correct, it can be a WiFi client OR WiFi AP but not both like a Win7 with connectify.

Yeah that's what seems to be happening with mine. Oh well.

But I second the call for tethering to Blackberry!
