Go to your browsers settings and change the User Agent from Mobile to Desktop

Will that have any other effects in the operation of the browser that I may not want, do you know, Jeffrey?

No. It will just enable you to see the full version of sites, rather than the mobile version. You can also experiment with other browsers to get the experience you are looking for. Try Dolphin HD, Dolphin for Pad, Opera, Maxthon - see how you get on.

Yeah, I downloaded Opera Mobile yesterday, Janner, and that action works on Opera, but not on the default browser. Strange.

Your experience is not unusual - the browser in Android has been the source of MUCH discussion. Personally I use two browsers - Dolphin for Pad & Opera. Depending on the site or task I need to do, I use either. Each has their strong points. Much of it is a matter of personal taste, some of it is essential to get something to work. For example, on this site, if I do not use Opera, I experience typing lag using the onscreen keyboard.

I read something about Dolphin yesterday that made me a bit wary. can't remember what it was.

what I dolike aboutthe default browser is the thumb swipes - is there a decent browser available that has that, do you know?

Hi, having tried pretty much every browser in the market I finally settled on Dolphin HD and I'm very happy with it having been using it exclusively for months now.

Dolphin HD had a minor privacy scare - no longer an issue. There is a thread on here somewhere.
The thumb controls are only available in tbe stock browser.

    Thanks Terry and Janner.

As an aside, I couldn't 'like' your posts on Opera, I had to go to the default. I will give Dolphin a go tonight.
