Newest Transformer TF101 difficult to root?

    Hi,

I got a new transformer TF101, serial number starting with BCO. For some reason, I cannot delete the stock music that comes with it. "Error deleting file." Tried it with the stock file manager as well as Astro. Tried it by hooking the tablet up to my PC, but after having seemingly deleted the files through the PC, they were still on the actual tablet.

Googling this annoyance made me come across loads of forums where they said that rooting would solve my problem.

The Razorclaw root was/is an easy way to root my tablet, but it doesn't work for me. Some kind of firmware update of Asus that prevents this tool to work? The '21' in WW_epad-8.6.5.21-20111216 is the culprit?

Anyways, I come across of loads of root methods that will work with either B50, B60, B-etc Transformers, but I can't seem to find one for mine.

To make a long story short: How can I root my Transformer TF101 BCO the easiest?

    or

How am I able to delete the stock music files?

    Thnx alot.

    A Dutch Android n00b

I just rooted my B80 v 8.6.5.21 using Nachoroot last night with success.
First time I entered the chain of commands with ADB I got the same result as you (uid and guid 2000). Turns out I enter the command wrong.
Make sure you follow the steps and you should be good.

There is a small subset of tf101s that won't root with nacho. I ran into one of these critters last nite. What you need to do isnrevert back to .19 and use nachoroot. If you don't know how to revert to. 19 then you shouldn't be rooting.

I was having the same problem. Follow these instructions and you'll be fine. Basically just download the files listed, download the latest firmware from asus, get the zip file out of the zip file you download from asus, put it on your SD card, and run the root app you just downloaded. It will root you. zThen you run a recovery mod, and install whatever you want.
