    Wifi bug?

Not sure if this is a bug or not. I am using Android 3.1. Basically when I switch the TF into sleep mode by hitting the power button on the side and leave it like that for a while. When I resume, the wifi signal is gone and I can only seem to get it back by powering off and on again. If I do it right away though instead of leaving it sitting for 5-10 minutes it works fine. I've only noticed this when upstairs where the wifi signal is weaker though.

I am going to test it near the router next and report back. I have wifi set to be always on in settings. I also use the built in screen lock.

i have never experienced that and i have 2-3 different networks that i connect to. i can't say that any of mine have been weak signals though so that could be the issue.

I'm experiencingthe same problem, it doesn't matter what settings I use for WiFi disconnect policy. I haven't seen a correlation to the distance from the AP. I didnt have this problem before the 3.1 upgrade.

Have y'all tried a hard reset since you installed the 3.1 upgrade?

Not yet, I was sort of hoping that would be a simple fix, without wiping my data.

Try different settings on your router. Try open then wpa2, etc.

I can say that the issue was resolved after hard reset. The wifi no longer drops without being able to reconnect without a hard shutdown. Also, I'm able to search from the browser address bar without the search hanging. Browser typing lag has also been greatly reduced. Its sad I had to do a troublesome hard reset (not everything backed up and restored the way I would have expected, but ...).

If anyone else had these issues after the 3.1 update, hopefully this will help.

I've got the same problem and I am fearing a hard reset. Is restoration difficult?

We have a terminology issue here. If your data was wiped you did not do the Hard Reset I suggested but you did a Factory Restore. A factory restore restores the unit to the condition like it was when it was purchased. A hard reset is a much simpler process as described below:

I suggest unplugging the power cord and shutting the unit off and trying a Hard Reset. Press and Hold the power button and the Down volume button together and hold them for 10-12 seconds and let them both go. You should see a little shape in the middle of the screen so just press and release the Down volume button again and let it reboot. See if this clears up your problem.
