not doing anything... Black screen

I know this thread is a couple of weeks old, but any luck with your transformer?
Mine did the same thing except I had already been using it for 2 weeks.
I just went to use it and the screen would not turn on. I can hear the e-mail notification and the computer recognizes it when I plug it in to the computer's USB.
But for whatever reason the screen just stays black. I held down the power button for 20 seconds and it will make a very light click sound.
I tried reseting it with power and volume down, but no luck. Asus tech support could not figure out, they want me to send it in.

I have the exact same symptoms. I tired the Power + Volume Down reset and holding the Power switch. Couldn't see anything on the screen, but it didn't seem to do anything. I charged it via the detachable keyboard until it was fully charged (green LED on the keyboard). I then detached it from the keyboard and am now recharging the tablet directly. Tried the Power+Volume Down reset and Power button hold again; nothing.

Keep hearing the e-mail notifications ...

Yea, tried that.. It's not that simple I'm afraid.

I did manage to fix it. I took off the back cover and pulled the battery connector for about 30 sec... Same thing as letting it drain.
Just wish I knew what causes the problem in the first place.
