Lenovo's set to compete against the TF

    Tablet:

    Amazon.com: ThinkPad 1838 10.1" LCD NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz 1GB RAM Android 3.1 Black Tablet Computer: Computers & Accessories

    Dock with Keyboard:

Amazon.com: Thinkpad Tablet Keyboard Folio Case - En: Electronics

On the surface this appears to be a better product, although it costs a bit more with the recent TF price drop to $300. Time will tell. Love the dock!

I would have posted this in announcements, but I don't have access to post there.

Maybe so but does Lenovo have anything coming to challenge the Prime?

My first thought was - hang on, I already know about this, so I checked the availability date on the page. Tablet available from July, keyboard from August.

So, my second thought was: yes, I was right!

Thanks for the heads up though, nice of you to let us know - not everyone spent 3 months researching available tablets and giving their wife a major irritant factor earlier this year - who was that? Yes, it was me!

This had somehow slipped under my radar. What caught my eye was the nicely designed keyboard dock with fold-down case. Seems like they got THAT right. It's likely this will run as well as the TF for most things as the hardware specs are nearly identical. Onboard USB and sd card reader is a nice touch too (only available with the keyboard dock on the TF).

I'm not aware of a Prime equiv model but I don't see why they wouldn't. IMO, Prime is overkill anyway as the original TF isn't lacking in horsepower, it's lacking USB ports, SD Card reader, and better selection of apps (although the android store is getting better by the minute).

That's not a keyboard dock. Its a case with a keyboard inside. Kinda like the following item.

MY guess a BT device no extra battery, also says nothing about extra USB, SD, ETC. Very limited description on site.

It's not a bt keyboard. It's a usb keyboard that plugs in at the bottom of the tablet. And yeah, there's no extra battery or sd slot. Again, it's not a keyboard docking station. It's a case with a keyboard inside.

That's an affirmative. That keyboard is NOT directly attached, not a dock.

I've had my hands on that product, a local vendor wants me to sell it. I wasn't impressed. Next to the TF101 it felt a little clunky and heavy.

I still like their dock setup better, but the lack of extra battery (which I hadn't even considered) is a deal killer. I'd expect it for the $100. Good catch!
