    Storing emails

    Hi All,
This may be daft question, but I have only had my Transformer a week or so and I cannot figure this out. The emial program that comes with the TF seems to download new emails fine, but then once they have been read they are no longer visibl. Is there some way I can keep them visible?

Mine stay visible, scrolling down shows the "Older" button or "Load More Messages" button.

Are you using the gmail account you are logged into Android with or another account ?

Maybe during mail setup if it is using a different email than the one you are logged into it may give an option to change that setting? I can't remember, I do know there is the option to leave on server or not

Thanks for the reply. Google mail is fine and keeps all messages visible. The problem arises when I am using the email program to access other accounts using POP/SMTP. I hav the delete messages from serversetting set at never. Still puzzled!

Strange indeed, maybe try removing the account from Settings > Accounts and Sync and adding it again, I have gmail and my hotmail accounts set up and both of them keep all my emails read or not

You also might consider setting the account up as an IMAP account. IMAP syncs the mail in both directions and would only delete the mail on the server that you deleted on the Transformer.

    Hi

I reported this a while back.

    http://www.transformerforums.com/for...-problems.html

I never got an fix for it, but hoped it would be fixed in a later FW release, but it seems not

i now use k9 free email client.

You may want to give that a go?

Thanks to all who have replied. I just installed K9, and actually get the same thing happening, Now I am starting to get quite worried by this. I have to use POP as that is what is supported by teh company hosting my website.

    Hi Technopole

When you say the same is happening, do you mean you can only see your latest few emails?

When it happened to me, all the missing emails had been deleted from my ISPs server.

Fortunatly, they had already been saved to my home PC.

Try and send yourself a load of test emails and see if they stay in K9 and your ISPs server.

You can check what is on the server by logging onto your email account using an online web based email system, for example, Mailtoweb.

    Hope this helps

Normally the reason for this is basically what 14theroad just said, the mail is being received by another system. If your desktop has mail client that is open and checking mail and it is not set to keep the mail on the server, you will see them disappear from the TF when that happens, particularly if the mail on the TF is set to IMAP.

I am not sure what the problem is, but i do not get the problem with emails getting deleted
from the server with my HTC Desire Hd or any other device, for example HTC HD2 (Windows mobile device)

Seems like the stock email client has some issue using POP3.
