    TF101 not playing Mpeg4 video

I tried to play a Mpeg4 video directly from an SD card but it would not play. Any ideas ? I assume that I should download a program to achieve this?

Yes, try MX Player or BS Player (apps from the Google Play store). MX is highly recommended by members of this forum.

There are 3 things that could cause this:

    1. If your file is a so-called "Digital Copy", or a movie file purchased through a store like iTunes/Amazon, the file is likely DRM protected, and will only work on devices that support that form of DRM. Apple DRM files will not play on anything non-Apple.

    2. Memorycard issues. If the video file plays fine on your computer, try copying it to internal memory instead, and see if that makes a difference.

This article on my website explains a bit more about memorycard issues:

    3. The MP4 file is created using incompatible settings for the hardware decoder of the Transformer. Players like Dice Player, MX Player can help with that. They offer a different way of decoding video (software mode), which should be able to play the video. However, if your video file is an HD file, you might run into stutter/freezing or audio sync issues.
To make your video work, you might have to convert the video to one that is compatible with the hardware decoder with a dvd/video converter such as DVD Catalyst. Then, it is even possible to play 1080p videos on the TF101 without any issues.
