TF101 USB Speed
Hi,
There's a very good chance that this question has been addressed before, but for the life of me, i can't find it..!
If, in the case of my question being answered 2 posts down, feel free to call me a girls name for being so blind!
Every time i connect my TF to my PC, i get the old 'This device can perform faster if you plug it into a USB 2.0 port'.
I've only got a class 4 Micro SD card and appreciate that upload speeds will be reduced as a result.
Is this a regular occurrence?
Cheers

That probably has nothing to do with the SD card, it's an older technology USB port on the computer you plugged it into. It's possible that another USB port may be on a USB 2.0 instead of 1.0 port. 2.0 would be faster.

Hi Leeshor,
Thanks for the reply.
You've thought just the same as i did. The problem i have is the PC is only a year old and all 8 USB ports are 2.0. I don't have the problem when plugging in my S3, so i tried my spare cable to see what happens. I get the same message!
I'm feeling pretty stumped at the minute...

That's pretty strange. The error is coming from Windows and it obviously doesn't see it correctly but my though is that it could be a USB driver issue that needs an update for Windows.

Ahah...!
I think you may be onto something there. My SSD died recently and i've had to start again from scratch. Since then, i've had a windows validation issue (It keeps thinking it's illegitimate). Checking just now, i can't update anything because it's invalid. Maybe this is causing a problem.
I'll try get this validation sorted out and see if i can update drivers.
Cheers

News...!
So i discovered that my drivers weren't up to date on my PC (WIN7 x64). I updated them, but still had the issue...!
After having a think and a play, i discovered that the issue only occurs when the screen is locked (Pattern) and then plugged in...
Unplug USB, unlock screen, plug USB back in... No 'USB can perform faster' message!
So, now i know anyway...
