(Solved)Is my 101tf dead??
I bought a refurbished TF101 last month and a used keyboard dock. I did the upgrade to 4.0 and everything worked fine for a month. Yesterday I turned it off and put on the charger. Orange light and then green. Now it wont turn on. I disconnected the dock and still nothing. The only thing I can get out of it is the green light when I connect the charger. I was thinking about taking it apart and disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery but I thought I should try and get some advise first. Help please. Tony

Welcome to the forum Tony! Before you opened it up, there are a few things you can try. First, just hold the power button down for 30 seconds. If that doesn't do it, hold the power button + volume down until some text appears on the upper left of the screen, then let go and allow it to boot (hard reset). Let us know if those help.

Good advice SS
And Tony - there are various troubleshooting guides linked from the Master Help Guide in my signature, too. Including "how to" dismantle your tf101 if it comes to that.

Power button held for 30 seconds, and all is well in paradise.

Hi. Using this thread since it appears to relate to my situation: my Transformer tablet is dead and won't recharge.
Here's the whole deal:
I have a docking station. With the tablet NOT connected to it, the station DOES charge. Light goes from orange to green. Great!
But when I attach the tablet, the light goes off (if the charger is connected to the station). And tablet does not turn on.
If I try to charge the tablet itself, the light does NOT go on, ever. I have tried things like depressing the on button for a while. Still no dice. Sometimes when I connect the charger to the tablet directly I will get a short lived icon of a battery denoting low charge and get a kind of humming (short lived). But that's it.
Wondering if the tablet's battery itself is kaput?
Any help would be appreciated.

Try plugging the turned off TF into a PC or standard 5 volt USB charger overnight (the PC must remain on if you go that way) - the TF series devices have a small issue that if the battery gets really discharged they often need a slow 5 volt charge for several hours to revive the charging circuit again.

MikeS - a BIG thank you.
I connected the tablet to a PC via the usb power cord. Didn't see anything on that tiny light but decided to just leave things as is. A few hours later, still no light but picked up the tablet and lo and behold it came to life. I got a message to connect to the charger. Which I did, and now can see the charging % go up. I can even log in.
I can't recall seeing this on any faq so once again a big thank you!
