    Rooting Pros and Cons

    Hello everyone...

Well basically I'm totally new in this Android world, I have been jailbreaking my iPods and iPhones for a while now... and the worst thing that could happen is to factory restore and we were good.

Now I just bought an Asus Transformer and want to know how complicated is to root and unroot??..

I have read several post that talk about OTA updates, not easy to unroot, warranty void...etc.. can someone point me on the right direction?..

It's really worth rooting the device?? .. whats is the worst case scenario?..

    Thanks

Worst case scenario is you brick your device. Right now, I honestly don't see much reason to root. The pros are that you have total control of your advice and can overclock and things like that but the con is that it can be much easier for hour device to be exploited and your warranty is voided. Of course, you can always unroot. Just something to think about.

The only reason I root is to use root only apps like cache cleaners, ad killers, and app + data back-ups. Not much of a desire to do any custom ROM flashing like I do on my Droid X. I kinda like the speed and UI the way it is. But there are those who root and tinker just because they can. Total control over a device that they paid for and own.

Also by rooting you can have paid apps free??...

We DO NOT allow any discussion of obtaining paid apps for free so please do not ask or discuss.

    Thanks

honestly rooting is not a big deal it provides greater control over the unit. If you want all the factory updates every time they come out then do not root. But I have not run an unrooted device for 2 years and cannot see why i would want to.....ever again.
