You could use the emulator as well.

tried to use the emulator but it cuts the bottom part of the screen, tried to resize it , shrink it but the colors mix up to a withe, that is why i prefer the hardware, but its giving me problems trying to connect it to eclipse...

I'm only beginning my quest into Android doing-stuff, but from my very cursory knowledge, I think ADB is installed from Asus Sync, which I don't believe has a Linux counterpart. Is that installed? If not, if you can track it down it might help.

Again, my knowledge is cursory at best, but hey, maybe that'll help?

Have you installed the Android SDK from Android SDK | Android Developers ?

You would also need to configure the system properly to get your device recognized properly. Some reference here:

ADB actually stands for Android Development Bridge - it has nothing as such to do with Asus Sync.
ADB is part of Android development kit from Google at Android Developers

ADB needs to be in your PATH used by your development environment - which is preferably Eclipse - so that when you simply call 'adb' it gets executed. All this is part of properly setting up Android Development environment.

Are you really reading the messages properly?

I myself do use Eclipse on Ubuntu and can communicate with the Asus Transformer and also my Android phone without any problems.
