Connecting to a VGA Data Projector?

    Hi all

I've just joined this forum on the basis that I'll be buying a Transformer very soon. It has been getting great reviews all over.

One thing that I want to be able to do is connect it to VGA data projectors. I know the Transformer only has a Mini HDMI out connection like a lot of Android tablets including the Motorola Zoom.

The only accessory I've been able to find is a thing called an HDFury but it gets mixed reviews. This is more for work where I'd like to be able to give PowerPoint presentations and show some application demos. Most customers still have VGA only connections to their data projectors, only a handful have LCD or plasma displays.

This is all I'be been able to find. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks, John

    Welcome to the forum!

First, that HDfury is a DVI-D to VGA, so you would need to get either a mini HDMI to DVI-D or a mini HDMI to HDMI and a HDMI to DVI-D to test it out. At 53 quid to start, that is a bit steep to test it out. Also it says it is for 1080P and the TF output is 720P.

What you need is the ASUS Mini HDMI to VGA (which ASUS announced in April and it is still not available yet!). Amazon Germany has it listed, but out of stock here: miniHDMI to VGA.

This is one accessory that should have been available from launch day IMO because the size of the TF is great for sales, I use it to assist my sales team (I am on the services side) when I have free time. If I need to use a projector I have to whip out my WinXP rig and hook it up when the files are right there on my TF ready to go...but no VGA.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers
