    Getting Used to Keyboard

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting used to this new keyboard on the dock? I keep hitting the wrong keys, ending up all over the place on the screen.

I know I will get used to it in time but thought maybe there are some tricks to make the learning curve a bit shorter.

    Thanks!

Try turning off the touchpad 4th key top row. That will cure your wild thumbs.

Wild thumbs is right!! Shoulda had that for a username, yeah? Thanks for the suggestion. I use an ergonomic full size keyboard when I'm at my desk, so getting used to this smaller keyboard will take some time. But I learned how to use the small one on my full size laptop, so surely I can learn to use this one.

    I LOVE my TF!!!!

Think of us guys with our big hands and thumbs...if we can do it you can get used to it too!

Here's what the top row of keys are for:

Top row includes Android, media, and utility keys.
Special top row keys include (left to right)

    Back
    WiFi
    Bluetooth
    Trackpad on/off
    Backlight dim
    Backlight bright
    Backlight Auto
    Screenshot capture
    Web Browser
    Settings
    Previous Track
    Play/Pause
    Next Track
    Mute/Unmute
    Volume down
    Volume up
Lock/Unlock (sleep/wakeup if no lock is set)

It's actually not hand size that's the problem Mark. My wife hates this keyboard because she can type like 70 words a minutes on a standard sized keyboard. So anytime she gets on any keyboard that's a little smaller it totally freaks her out! Now me, I hunt and peck the keys so I could care less. In rack you could jumble up the letters on my keyboard and it wouldn't slow me down but it would send my wife to the ER!

Funny thing - I did this to my boss last summer. He was NOT happy when I locked him out of his computer because of it.

Yeah, my wife would go from 70 WPM to like 5 WPM and I would go from my normal 22 WPM to 21 WPM!

My wife is a demon when she types also. But that was her job for 30 years. I just assumed since she has the tiniest of fingers is why she is still a blur on the Docking Station and a regular keyboard. I'm just a hunt and peck guy on any keyboard. And clumsey! I don't care how big or small the keys are, I'm always hitting at least two at the same time. My Backspace gets a workout!

Mickey, I figured you would be more like 3-5 MPW!

I'm a really fast typist on my ergonomic keyboard; I don't mind going slower on the TF one but I have to learn how to not hit the wrong keys! Which I appear to be doing quite regularly. Of course, it was only the first time I'd ever used it. I think that's a reasonably good excuse.
