Master list of USB devices compatible with dock. (Tablet list to come) :)

Seemed like a good idea to have a thread listing all the devices that do and do not work or partially work with the USB ports on the dock

Tested devices by me (will get updated).

Logitech 2.4Ghz wireless laptop mouse. I will assume most other mice that use this type of connection should work. Your mileage may vary.
Logitech Z305 Soundbar (USB speakers). Does not work. It powers the speakers but that is all. Luckily you can plug the speaker out to the line in. Not as neat though.
Sandisk multi SDHC, MicroSD, Compact Flash card reader. Works 100% (well on an SD card inserted anyhow). Seen as mass storage device.
    Maxtor 2.5" 320GB External HDD. Works 100%
Logitech G15 USB keyboard. Works for the most common keys. On this basis I will assume most USB keyboards will work.
Canon 450D dSLR. Only see's JPG files on SD card. I will assume the same goes for most cameras with USB out.

More to come as I think of things to plug into it.

BTW I was able to link via bluetooth to XP running on a netbook and audio from the TF came through the speakers on remote desktop using my Win7 PC. But that's just a sidenote. Also linked to my Sony Ericsson w880 and can act as a controller. Not much point to that but hey.

Update: I can confirm that using a USB adapter to mini USB and plugging in various USB devices does not work on the tablet. Only the dock. It would appear we need a special adapter or someone to figure out the pinouts to make a custom adapter. Asus says by the end of summer. Hopefully some of those Chinese people will exploit a loophole in the market before then.

If it acts just as a simple host and not Mac specific you may get lucky. Maybe someone who has a USB to ethernet (Not aimed at Mac's specifically) can test.

When someone finds a way to connect usb external hd to the tablet ( without docking unit ), please post it. I guess there should be a cable out there somewhere which has diverted usb on charging line.

Hello all, I'm a new member here and things look very interesting.
I haven't tried that one, but I have a Hawking Hi-Gain Wireless-150N USB Dish Adapter (and a couple of similar adapters) which I'd really like to use on my TF. I really helps my Macbook and my Netbook WIFI range, and seeing as how limited the WIFI range on tablets in general is it would be a great help in fringe areas. Has anyone had any luck using an adapter similar to this?
    Thanks, Ron

Does it require a driver (supplied on a CD) to operate? If it does then it is unlikely to work but you never know until you try.

    - Seagate 500GB Passport External Harddrive. No power needed. 100%
    - Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000. 100%
    - MobileGear multi-card reader. 100%, tested with CF Card, MicroSD, SDHC all works fine.
    - Canon 30D DSLR. Able to import JPGs & RAW files via direct USB. Auto-Launch the Gallery app after plugging in.
    - SanDisk 16GB thumbdrive (i think all thumbdrives should be fine)
    - Charges everything I plug into the USB port, including my Energizer Portable Battery Charger XP2001.
