than that bamboo one, which i could easily make with two planks of wood... why?

coz it covers the underside slot, if i want to charge the tab while watching movies
and i think i have several of these around the house too

Who is sitting at a desk using their transformer at that angle? Mine is probably only at the angle shown sitting in my lap/hands when typing such as now.

I bought mine a few weeks ago from mylcdtouchscreen.com The touchscreen was a perfect match and they claim its Gorilla Glass.

I also bought a new LCD screen from them and it came with scuffs on it though...seemed that part was used or returned. The LCD also wasn't the same one that came originally. It fit but I had to do some minor modifications to the frame that holds the LCD in place. I was able to wipe off the scuffs to the point they are not noticable and it did eventually fit and works perfectly. They are based in China though so it took almost 3 weeks to get the parts. That's the reason I didn't bother with returning the LCD. I also got a great deal by buying the LCD and the touch screen as a set. Cheapest price I found.

asusparts.uk will ship to US. When you go to checkout they have a dropdown list of countries. I missed it the first time because it is listed under USA instead of United States. Their prices are not bad but you have to do the conversion to US dollars yourself (by "yourself" of course I mean make Google do it). Found the cable port for my tf101 for about 20 bucks but the shipping brings it up to $45! Still better than the only other place I found the part I need: eBay. There is only one available and it is 50 bucks used! I have my eye on a couple complete tablets with broken displays on eBay. If I can pick one of those up cheap I figure I can part them out and give those eBay sellers some competition. I'll let you guys know if I go that route. My plan is to start the auctions at a price just high enough to cover my expenses.
