Low hissing noise?

Just noticed this recently when I was in bed watching some anime, but for some reason now, there's a low hissing "white background noise" that I can hear when my volume is low. Not only do the physical speakers produce this sound, but it's also occuring with all of my earphones/headphones as well as with various files that I throw at it. Regardless of video, music both mine or the ones that come with the TF, this hissing noise is there. Not too big of an issue if I'm surrounded by regular background noise but it's impossible to listen to anything at night.


Have tried hard-rebooting it already. :/

have you installed any sound app (equalizer or similar app)? i tried it on mine and i don't have that in low volumes. or try another anime vid. coz its also possible that the rip procedure made on the anime's audio is on a low bitrate.

I did have equalizer installed, but nothing wrong originally. It may be due to an update. I'll check that in a bit.

Also, tried several different videos that I have. I even have different fansub groups for a particular series and it applies to any sound in general.

I am curious if this is happening with it plugged in to the wall wart charger? If so, try flipping the plug in the wall 180 degrees to see if this stops it. My unit will have a slight tingle on the bezel/keyboard if I have it pugged in the wrong way.

Wanted to do this earlier but my procrastination has something to say about that. Turns out uninstalling/installing EQ did the trick. Thanks for the help again guys.

Im having the same problem but i havent installed any app i just bought it yesterday and it started making the noise after acople of hours of use very strange
