    Keyboard button stick

    Hello,

My nice shiny new Asus Transformer has a funny problem. You see the letter 'u' sticks quite a lot. As in, it makes it nigh on impossible to type at normal speed (without hammering the key without success for a few seconds every time you wanto say 'u').

Basically, what I was wondering was this. I've had the problem on a laptop before, and just pried open the key, wiggled it a bit and re-attached it. However, I am ULTRA-CAUTIOUS doing this to my transformer. I don't want to end up without you. I mean, without 'u'. :P

So - is it possible to just repair the key? OR is it a deeper problem? I'd prefer not to have to send it away for RMA if possible...

The question is - does the key stick down physically slightly to trigger it?

If so, it may be possible to take it apart and fix it. I have the occasional double letter that shows up, but it is rare and it is a software issue. I think it got fixed with the .19 build of the software, but not entirely sure.

I am not sure the best way to take the keys apart and would hate to have to send it in or break a key.

Perhaps someone who has taken their dock apart can comment.

It 'feels' different. I can trigger it, most of the time, if I press down very hard. But it's not 100%. It also doesn't 'stick' down, but it feels like something is causing it to stick - it feels 'heavy' unlike the other keys...

So, it is most likely a hardware issue. It will need to be a self repair, or send it in for RMA.

If it's very new you may be able to do an exchange with the vendor you purchased it from. The good thing is the TAB works just fine without the KB so you can still play/use the TF if you have to do a RMA.

Last time I saw that it was lunch that caused it.

Seriously it could be something in the keyboard, under the key by your explanation. It may pay to try checking that key out.
