keyboard not working

Less than one week old eee pad and keyboard, was al working fine but now the keyboard isnt working niether is the tracking pad. The usb ports are working though there must be some connection there. Any help?

The obvious question, is it seated (slider all the way to the right) completely?

yeah its fully locked in .

Have you done a reboot?

I tried but it seemed to freeze while rebooting, also my battery icon reads 0% when both are fully charged , weird

Have you tried a hard reset?

With it powered off and unplugged - hold VOL DOWN and press POWER for 10-12 seconds.

Should show some text in the top left, then show 2 icons, right one should have a green box around it. Wait 10 seconds for it to boot.

yeah ive just tried that, you mean a cold boot? What happens if i press the android icon?

The green guy on the right is a cold boot, the icon on the left (box with the android guy) is a factory reset (data wipe)

thanks, ive tried it twice but still nothing .

I would undock and check the integrity of the two connectors that mate.

Beyond that, it may need to be returned to the retailer or ASUS for repair. It may be the tablet, or the keyboard. Hard to tell.
