    Blank Screen with Transformer.

    Hello all!

This is, obviously, my first post, because this is my one and only problem with my tablet to crop up:

This issue came without warning. I had my tablet connected to the keyboard section, and, when I opened it up to type, the screen has gone completely blank. The back light is still on, it even responds to touch input (I can, with general knowledge of where on the GUI the "Power off" button is, power it off and on.) I also still receive audio alerts (new email, facebook notice, low battery warning, etc.)

Has anybody else encountered this problem? If so, please impart whatever wisdom you can.

    Thank you!

    Welcome!

You are about the 3rd or 4th back light issue I have seen in the past week. Before that, I had not heard of any.

I am thinking the back light just stopped working, which is a hardware issue. I would call ASUS and arrange for RMA. If possible, I would exchange with your retailer as that would be faster, but I am not sure if you are still in the exchange window.

Welcome to the Forum PD. Try holding the power button in for 6 to 10 seconds. This should reboot the TF. See if this resolves the issue.

I don't mean to be rude, but, as written in my first post, I am able to reboot the device (I have even tried a "hard" reboot), and the back light is not the issue, as it is still working.

    My bad, I misread this.

Lets try this again - Sounds like your video cable is not working. I would guess that you will still need to RMA. If you ahve a microHDMI cable you could try hooking it up to a TV and see if the video feed is still working to that.

I would take Fred's recommendation and exchange or send to Asus for repair.

Either that or you could carry a 1280x800 monitor, HDMI cable and extension cord with you!

Sorry, had to do it. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have the same problem. I played with it one morning, then i shut it down, closed it on the dock and put it in my backpack. One hour of car later, i tried to re-opened it and the screen stay black, i can still see some bleed and receive my e-mail.

Could it be the vibration in the travel? Did yours have been shaked up too?

It took me 15-20 min with Asus on the phone (french service) to arrrange the ship back. I'll send news when my tf comes back.

I've almost the same problem. The only difference is that I dont have the dock.

I was following the iPhone 4s event on my TF and I noticed that Flash Player update is available. I clicked update. After a little while screen has gone black suddenly and is not coming up since then.

When I do the shutdown (by holding the power button for 10 seconds) after the reboot I hear some sounds, I guess from the Friend Me app.

I tried the hard reset (Power + vol down button), it did not help me at all.

What are my options now? Send it to ASUS for repair? I had to send it to repair a couple of months ago, because of the "deep sleep" issue.

    thanks for your help.
