    weird behaviour ...

    Hi

I have my Transformer for a couple of weeks now, and I have noticed a weird thing a couple of times. Generally speaking my battery last nearly 5 days to a week (with the keyboard dock). Last night my keyboard dock was empty, my tablet battery level was around 80%. this morning when i woke up battery level was down to 17% ???

Looking at CPU spy the transformer never made it into deep sleep, although it lay closed next to my bed. Looking at battery use, bluetooth was at 76%?? What happened there???

this happened already a couple of times, so it looks like sometimes apps get stuck on the transformer, keeping it awake and draining the battery :-(

    questions:
    1. is this a well known problem? is it a setting somewhere or is the only remedy to actually shut down the unit at night?
    2. is there somehow a way to find out which app was the culpritt? last time I suspected tapatalk, this time my guess would be bluetooth??
    3. everytime this happened, the keyboard dock was empty while the tablet was still docked ... could it be the dock is trying to load from the screen???? i thought this was (should not) be possible?

hopefully you wizards out there can help me. i bought the transformer primarily to keep my little one entertained during flight for the upcoming vacation. I would be majorly disappointed if this happened during the flight .... :-(

    best regards
    D.

The three biggest drains on the battery are: WiFi, Screen, Bluetooth.

I always put my TF in airplane mode (started using the Auto Airplane Mode app) because even with the WiFi set to off with screen off, Skype, Talk and imo.im keep the WiFi awake. Also, other apps such as Email, Gmail, Market and others wake the WiFi up to check for updates, emails, etc. from time to time and this also will drain your battery.

Fred, what if you also shut off Auto-sync data, as well as WiFi, when putting theTF to sleep?

Auto-sync would help if you are not using airplane mode, but it will not keep Talk, Skype and other IM clients shut down.

    Hi

this weekend thing got even weirder ....

I closed my TF friday evening after watching a movie with my little one. Did not touch it on saterday during the day. Opened it up again on in the evening, and noticed the battery free falling again. Once again, the dock was empty. I rebooted ... and this morning battery use was back to normal.

so I see in the history now a couple of days with charging periods from 95 to 100 and then suddenly on saterday morning the free fall???

wifi, gps, and bluetooth were on all the time but not being used (no coverage or devices)

closed the TF on friday night, battery depletion during the night was normal, compared to the history graphs
and then suddenly something woke up on saterday morning while the TF was NOT being used???

    I am stunned ...

    D.
