Device no longer recognized at Google Play

I think this might have started at the last ICS update but I'm not positive. Every download, including app updates, fails with an error code 101. After messing around for a while, it appears that Google Play doesn't recognize my device any longer. I did all of my checking on my TF101 last night, including using the stock browser to log directly into Google Play, where i checked my devices and it said I didn't have any. Now today on my work PC I logged in and it shows my TF101. Can't get on wifi here so can't check to see if things are working, but I'm guessing not. This is a huge impact issue to me of course so any advice is very much appreciated.

You could try doing a hard reset or doing a reinstall of the firmware from the Asus site by download the firmware file and then copying it to your micro SD card

Did the hard reset first thing. No effect. Avoiding the reinstall as I'm not good at that, but might be time to learn.

See if there is another Google Play icon in the app drawer, upper right corner of the screen. If there is, try it.

    Same identical problem here!
I have old Market icon on desktop but I can't update existing apps (error -101)and no Asus TF101 tablet recognized by Play Google.
It only lists my Galaxy S2.

    Any help?

This sounds to me as if both of your market updates/upgrades to Google Play got corrupted/interrupted.

    I would...
    1. Remove your google accounts from your device
    2. Go to settings, apps, all & find either/or/both the market app/google play app. If you find both, then do the following to both, but if you do find both I think my suspicion is confirmed
    3. Clear cache, clear data, force close
    4. Hard reset your device
    5. Open the market/play app - it will prompt you to add your account
    6. Try again.

If you are still having problems then... http://www.transformerforums.com/for...ory-reset.html

If Janner43's excellent advice does not work?

Your google account may well have become corrupted-- an E-mail directly to Google might be the only fix. I've read of that happening on rare occasions. One of the reasons Google wants your cell phone number (or so they claim), is to backup your account information.

One way to test for a corrupted Google account, is to try to access it via the PC or using another device, like an Android smartphone.
TF101 B70 series, USA running Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3, rooted. 64gb microSDXC, keyboard dock with 32gb microSDHC in an adapter
Dell Streak 7 running Honeycomb 3.2, rooted. 64gb SDXC. Mainly used as a music player.
Virgin Mobile Optimus Slider, rooted -- frequently used as WiFi hotspot. 16gb microSDHC.

Gentleman , Google is updating Android devices in patches to the latest version 3.5.15 if that is not yet your version. "Server error" - "Device not recognized" is a normal error that could occurs during the updating process.

Rest assured it is a matter of time. And in case if you want to have it ASAP. here is the how-to:
    Clicky
