Lost Android Market app

I seem to have just lost the Android Market app of all things. There was a prompt for Google Play, which I accepted. And not long afterwards I lost the Market. The original icon in ADW Launcher Ex looks different. I turned to the stock Asus launcher and clicked on the Market icon, but it returned an error that the app not installed.

Any ideas? I am beside myself on this one...

Try uninstalling that update then rebooting and see if it comes back

It wasn't an update. I was prompted to accept Google Play in order to use the Market. And I can't find Market in Settings > Apps anymore. So there is nothing to uninstall...

I am completely lost on this one. Perhaps a factory eat is in order?

You've got it under Google Play now. Look for "Play Store"

Well I went market.android.com and got redirected to play.google.com/store.

A Google search landed me at http://www.droid-life.com/2012/03/06...version-3-4-6/ where I found a link to download the new Play Store app.

Am I the only one who lost the old Market app?

I downloaded the new market from a different site . I installed it on my htc evo 4g i accepted the terms ran it decided i didn't like it so i went to settings then applications and uninstalled the update and was reverted to my old android market

OP this is a new one on me.
A factory reset would put you back the way it was, tho. I wonder if this is a US thing. I have the "7 days to play" offers, but not a different market.

Well I went market.android.com and got redirected to play.google.com/store.

A Google search landed me at Download: New Google Play Store Version 3.4.6 – Droid Life where I found a link to download the new Play Store app.

Am I the only one who lost the old Market app?

If you go to the list of apps on your device (the icon in the top right of the screen) you will see a new app called 'Play Shop'. The icon is a white bag with some triangles on it. This is the rebranded Android Market. Just drag it onto your desktop.

I take it back. I just bought a 49p TuneIn Radio Pro app - it turns out that Google Android Market in now called Google Play.

This EXACT SAME thing has just happened to me! Click on the link to accept/decline, i accepted, then lost the Market all together, i have no idea why, or how to uninstall GGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr


It seems that there is NO More Market for Android, it is infact called Google Play, have no idea what Google have to do with Android, or infact Samsung Galaxy ?!
