Asus Announcement 5: 6-inch ASUS FonePad Note

You didn't think we were done with Asus announcement's just yet did you? Our final device reveal is one which Asus shared a cool teaser about previously. The speculation about a phablet was correct. Asus is launching the 6-inch FonePad Note. Here's a full breakdown,
    • 6-inch 1080p resolution
    • Android 4.x
    • Stylus Included
    • Radios for data and voice
    • Intel’s 1.6GHz Z2560 Clover Trail+ processor
    • 2GB of RAM
    • 8 megapixel camera
    • Two-Front facing stereo speakers

As you can see, this device will be a huge competitor in the phablet market (and we mean that literally and figuratively). Again Asus didn't share specifics on dates or prices for this one, but we will let you know after more details emerge.

The Clover Trail+ is suppose to support LTE by the end of this year when they update the Cellular Modem to Intel's XMM 7160 LTE... for now they're limited to using the XMM 6360 with 3GPP release 9 support, with 42Mbps DC-HSPA+ (Category 24) support, as well as HSUPA category 7 (11.5 Mbps), and ships with a pentaband transceiver... but Asus may wait on releasing this model long enough for the update... we'll see...

For comparison... every system has their own strengths and weaknesses and benchmarks aren't always reflective of real world usage but for the Snapdragon 800, the AnTuTu benchmark is like 30,000 vs something over 24,000 for the Z2560... though it would have been pretty close against the higher end Z2580 that gets near 29,000 score...

There isn't much competition for Qualcomm in terms of integrated LTE but the Tegra i4 should join the club soon enough...
